Australian Labor Party, is there light at the end of the tunnel?!

Posted by Gaith Bader

ALP logo with a question mark in the middle of itIf you have been living in Australia for the last few years and unless you spend them under a rock, you would have noticed a lot of stuff in the news about the Labor party and their shenanigans. The political scene at the moment is a bit chaotic with policies, allegiances and even leaders up in the air with changes happening at the drop of a hat.

Air travel and babies, are they compatible? This is our experince with it..

Posted by Gaith Bader

Do you have a new baby just introduced in your cosy care free life? Why congratulations, welcome to parenthood...

Until now, you've been travelling all over the world, backpacking maybe,  don't mind doing it rough? Now things will change a bit. Ever wondered how easy is it to travel with a baby on toe? Usually, you never look forward to that type of  trip, most probably you remember those crying babies on any of your flights, however, does it pay to check different airlines and their offerings concerning babies? Well, sadly this post will not be a side by side comparison, after our experience we decided not to try any other airline, in fact I am not flying before my little one hits three. Why you ask? read on...

Terrorism, global reactions, the media and their general position in society

Posted by Gaith Bader

In July 2011 when the Norwegian tragedy took place, the news was  lettered with items related to the tragedy, however, did you notice a weird thing there? The word terrorist or terrorism didn’t seem to be mentioned as much when describing the act or the person causing it!
This is particularly surprising, knowing how the media usually portray these type of incidents and how they love to sensationalise and dramatise news. Weirder still, a few weeks later and outside of Norway, you will barely hear about the issue any more!

A question that would pop in my head here is would this have been different if news agencies managed to find an Islamic link anywhere?

Apple vs. Google: Mobile business approach

Posted by Gaith Bader

Remember yesteryear when you didn't need to bother with trying to find a mobile that does everything for you, when phones were just phones and not labelled with human features like smart?
Then Apple came to the scene and destroyed our tranquil simple lives with a new phenomenon, with a device, with.....  an (iPhone) to raise the benchmark and herald the start of mass-market smartphone era.

The two party political system

Posted by Gaith Bader

I have often engaged in conversations leading to the political current event situation here in Australia in particular and in the world in general, and usually from my responses or reactions, I would be told I'm cynical and apathetic when it comes to such a topic. This happened so many times, I thought why not write something about it!

Liberty, Freedom and Terror

"He who gives up essential liberty for a little temporary security deserves neither liberty or security." - Benjamin Franklin

Words like security, freedom, liberty and rights have been the buzz words for a few years now, governments been coming in power on the “We will keep you secure and safe” bandwagon, albeit it was not the only reason governments came into power, but security seems to be something people are worried about, and politicians, being the people they are, seized the moment and capitalised on it.

The World of C.I.S.V

CISV logoBefore I write anything in this rant of mine, I should point out that I am by no means not bias when I talk about CISV; I’ve been a member in it since one of my friends at Uni dragged me to something called a Junior Branch meeting, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Thus there is an interior motive for me to write about CISV, which might just be promoting it!
